Awesome people to work with. I gave them a call and asked if they would build a canopy for a '93 Hilux. Fitted it yesterday at the factory. Fits like a glove. Special thanks to Dean who orchestrated this whole build, Kristen for the organizing, and lastly Piet and his team for fitting it perfectly.

Excellent product and installation. My only problem is the service is very slow. They always say "2 weeks", but on three orders always late. The last one 5 weeks. I still like them for the quality of the product.

The service I received was absolutely pathetic. My canopy was ordered at the beginning of December 2024, after which there was a waiting period of 4 weeks. I had to drive from Kimberley to Pretoria (686km) for fitment, as they only fit in Pretoria & George. Once there, they built the wrong canopy, which cost me to turn back to Kimberley, without a canopy. Again there was a 3 week waiting period to build my new canopy. We had an agreement that my fuel would be paid for, by RLD Design. On the arrival of the 2nd attempt to fit the canopy everything was fine, and canopy was fitted successfully, but they could not provide me with the fuel money. According to the salesman, I may not speak to his manager, and he had to get permission for me to speak to him first. This cost me to turn back to Kimberley, without the fuel compensation, for I must wait again for that. They had 3 weeks to arrange the fuel payment, but they didn't. Long story short, RLD Design will never see me again in my life. There are many manufacturers out there who can build and fit your canopy in your hometown at the same quality, with 100 times better service.

I damaged my canopy and asked RDL Design for help. They were quick to help me, removed my canopy and kept me informed on its progress. It is easy to communicate with them. The showroom is neat and professional, and in the three times I have been there, I always felt welcome. The quote for repairs on the hinges were reasonable!

I did two separate installs. First was the awning an and canopy. Then the rooftent and add-a-room and add-a-roof. No communication was given internally about what was done previously. Thus we ended up with the awning mounted to the load bars as supposed to the roof tent. This wouldn’t be a problem if the latches for the roof tent was behind the awning. Thus rendering me now unable to open my roof tent. The best part is the mounting bracket to mount the awning to the roof tent came neatly back to me still wrapped. And secondly when I open the side pannel of the canopy, they hit the load bars. Metal on metal. How dit you not account for this!!! This is awful service for such an expensive product. Most of the staff were also very unapproachable.

Such a great business model. Everything done under one roof. From the initial order to the installation, I was kept up to date on each stage of the manufacturing process. The staff at RLD were really friendly on the day of install. So far the canopy looks amazing. Just received it yesterday, so now the testing begins. But what I have experienced so far, I'm sure I will be impressed!

Wel, ek kan net sê, daar was die wat negatief rondom hierdie firma gepraat het en dit is hartseer. Ek het vandag, 3 Desember 2024, my GEN 3 Canopy laat installeer en wat 'n belewenis. Die personeel is absoluut onberispelik en dit was voorwaar 'n voorreg om hulle te kon ontmoet; Josias, Kristen, Wllie en al die ander werkers, hulle optrede was regdeur die installasie profesioneel en baie beleef. Hulle het sonder om te sug alle vrae wat ek gehad het, geantwoord. Ek beveel hulle aan met AAA+ aanbeveling. Wat alles so ekstra gemaak het is dat ek nie 'n nuwe laat model bakkie het nie. Almal wat ek genader het, het net eenvoudig gesê; Jammer, die Bakkie is te oud. RLD het die ekstra myl geloop en vir my die vervaardiging gedoen, sonder enige ekstar tyd wat dit sou neem, en, en, en...

When I ordered the Canopy Hunter, I was told the delivery time would be 4 weeks. Now we are entering the 7th week, and the excuse is that they made it for the wrong vehicle model. I have already paid for the product in full, and it took them 7 days to provide the invoice. They are not responding to my emails. It's very disappointing.

I recently bought an RLD Gen 3 canopy from RLD, and I am extremely satisfied with the entire experience. The canopy is of very good quality, exactly what I was looking for. We visited RLD Canopies today to collect our new Ford Ranger canopy at RLD in George, and the service was absolutely outstanding.

Extremely happy with my Urban Traveller canopy, installed on my GWM P Series, by your installer in Durban. The canopy is precisely fitted and accurate and fits like a glove on my vehicle. It also looks insane. Definately recommend RLD. Bit of a wait, but they deserve the patience taken to create a product like this.

Be aware that there is zero after sale service support after you buy a canopy... from day one the windows leaked water, after reporting this and sending videos to RLD it's just been a struggle from here, nobody bothers to take responsibility or even gets back to you, you have to keep chasing them for answers and all they say is they waiting for feedback, feedback from where?? This is your own product you manufacture! Its been two months now and still no feedback or solution. Stay away from all the hassles...

Very happy with my Hunters canopy fitted on my Mitsubishi Triton. Reception at RLD fitting factory was very welcoming with a delicious cappuccino to enjoy in the waiting area while having the canopy fitted.

The RLD Generation 3 stainless steel canopy is a quality product and complements my Toyota Hilux d/cab.

RLD canopy looks fantastic on my Hilux Legend 45 but at the price I paid I was not expecting a canopy that leaks. After sending the images I was requested to drive to my fitment centre so that they can inspect? No idea why as from the pictures and video it is clear something is wrong. So hoping for feedback, I once again had to follow up for feedback. And the feedback was..........just take you Hilux that we can seal it with silicone???? Water will still seep into the rubber and then? Rot? And if I claim then it was my problem. So I requested a replacement rubber. Approval given but once again empty promises of giving me feedback as to when it will be delivered and when it can be fitted.....not happy with afterservice from RLD.

I have fitted my canopy today at the factory. It was done very provisionally and quick. The product is very well designed and fitter my NAVARA perfectly. It looks great.

Recently bought the Gen3 canopy from RLD Design. A seamless process without any hiccups. Was kept up to date throughout the build. Had the canopy fitted by their agents, The 4x4 Store, in Cape Town and was most impressed by the skill and professionalism of the Cape Town team. Would have liked to have more information on how their load bars and roof racks are compatible with products from other manufacturers.

Just had my RLD Canopy installed today. From getting the quotation to installation, the process was efficient. Constant updates via SMS. Fitment was scheduled for 1 hour, but took +-30min so I am super impressed. Excellent staff (office & warehouse). Overall, it was a fantastic service. And the canopy looks amazing. Well done RLD. I will definitely use you guys again.

My vehicle, Ford Ranger Wildtrak, has just been fitted with a RLD Canopy, drawer system, roof rack, kitchen, ghost awning and camp table bracket inside the canopy. RLD was a pleasant experience from ordering through fitting. Lead time at approximately 6 weeks with an update weekly on progress with the manufacturing. The company has a very professional image and the service is spectacular. I would recommend RLD to any prospective clients, looking for a quality product, professional conduct and a vehicle that looks stunning after being fitted. Thank you Dean.

What a great experience from Dean and the team at RLD Pretoria, I drove all the from Bloemfontein to have my canopy fitted. The staff is friendly and very professional. There was one minor hiccup, but it was attended to with exceptional professionalism. I would definitely recommend RLD to anyone.
